Letter From Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam is the largest city in Tanzania and home to a wide range of people and cultures. Known for its beaches, islands, nyama choma, seafood art and music.

A tour of the city is rich in history and culture. We have been guiding tourists for more than 10 years with undisputed knowledge of the city. We will visit the City and I will show you all places of interest to let your day tour more enjoyable. For instance Unveiled in 1927 as one of three statues displayed throughout former British Africa, this cast-bronze statue depicts an askarisoldier in WWI uniform, his bayonet pointing towards the harbour.

“Hapana matata kitu roho inapenda mtapata Bongo Dar Es Salaama ni mpeto wa kutakata Nenda viwanja vikali vya Bongo ustaajabu.” – Prof. J (music artist)

It’s a great opportunity to witness the blending of cultures and business in a traditional Tanzanian setting, and you can catch some excellent photos of fishers unloading their wares along the docks. Just come prepared with a strong stomach – the stench is not for the faint of heart.

Dar es Salaam means harbor of piece. The name was originated from the Sultan Majid of Zanzibar who founded the City around 1860. The City has many attractions to offer for tourists including the museums, house cultures, local markets, art galleries and shopping malls. In addition, you will also visit the City suburbs to see a pure local life of the people of Dar es Salaam.
